Stem cell therapy for Multiple Sclerosis
Matthew was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 2005. MS, typically characterized by damage throughout the brain and spinal cord can be detrimental towards strength, balance, coordination and mobility.
Matthew visited DVC Stem in October 2019 for an infusion of 300 million cord tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells. Prior to treatment DVC Stem recommends that patients follow a certain number of protocols to help prepare the body for the stem cell transfusion. Before treatment DVC Stem recommends; avoiding alcohol, tobacco and caffeine products as well as complete a 5-day juice fast comprised of green vegetables and fruits. This is optional but studies have shown that a fasted state in the body dramatically increases the potency and activation of stem cells, boosting treatment results. Matthew took it one step further and decided to fast for 2 weeks prior to treatment!
Thanks so much for everything! Your facility is truly top not notch! So, it’s already started (the healing). I talked to a friend of mine today for the first time since I got back and he said “your speech seems clearer”. Also I can now touch the tip of my thumb and pinky together! Have not been able to do that on my left hand in some time!
Stem cell treatment for MS has demonstrated healing and repair-promoting properties. The use of expanded cord tissue-derived umbilical cord cells have made it possible to potentially treat MS more effectively. Mesenchymal stem cells have the ability to combat inflammation within the body. Once administered stem cells will try to repair and replace myelin as damage occurs. This makes MSCs an attractive potential therapy for MS and other conditions characterised by inflammation and/or tissue injury. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) represent an attractive alternative to develop a cell-based therapy for Multiple Sclerosis.
Other potential advantages of stem cell therapy for people with MS include their ability to move from the bloodstream to areas of injured tissues, allowing for a comfortable IV administration of these cells into the body. The stem cells will then be attracted to those areas of injury or inflammation and begin the process of differentiation to begin the healing process. Stem cell transplants for ms are generally less invasive, have shorter recovery times, and lasting healing effects on the body.
2-day non-invasive treatment
All patients undergo therapy in our vip treatment room located within our advanced clinic. Patients are under constant supervision from both our medical director and supporting medical team. We typically recommend patients stay a minimum of 4 days in Grand Cayman for treatment. Treatment at DVC Stem spans the course of 2 days.
Day 1: Arrival in Grand Cayman.
Day 2: Physical assessments & supporting therapies.
Day 3: Cell transplant & activation therapies.
Day 4: Follow-up physical & departure.
Our cell therapy protocol is safe & non-invasive. Patients will be able to travel the following day.
